Description
A Submition By
The silver-tree fairy (3 1/2 in) belongs to neither the Selee or Unselee courts, and as such is somewhat unpredictable. This particular variety nests in stands of white poplar, although subspecies include fey taking silver maples and crack-willow as their prefered trees. Characterized from pixies by their 'brush-bottle' tails and presence of irises, silver-tree fairies hibernate in the winter and emerge in the spring with the new leaves. They are highly sociable creatures, and depending on the size of the tree or stand of trees, colonies of up to one hundered members can be expected. Caution should be exercised when attempting to remove a tree known to be populated with these fey, which are highly agressive in the defence of their home. Their wings, when spread horizontally, collect sunlight and photosynthesize, eliminating the need to forrage.
